Richard Schobess is a junior researcher at the Department of Political Sciences of Ghent University. He holds a master's degree in Political Science (Université Catholique de Louvain). He is particularly interested in research on legislative politics and political behaviour as well as the application of quantitative methods which will be combined in his PhD research on the quality of parliamentary work. The research project focuses on the development of a measure of the quality of the work of members of Belgian parliaments and a subsequent analysis of potential factors that might have an effect on the quality of parliamentary work as well as potentially associated consequences particularly regarding the number of preferential votes.
